I am a total home design book (and cookbook) freak! I love collecting and scanning all the beautiful photos in these books. They usually offer some really good advice and always great inspiration.
Of the many books I purchased last year, one of my favorites was Nathan Turner's American Style.
I love Nathan's easy going/ laid back style but it's not boring. He has a way to styling that keeps your eyes moving around the space. Also, his spaces look like you can actually live in it, do you know what I mean? Just love it!
I was so lucky to have gotten a chance to hear him speak at Design Camp in Seattle this last spring. He is so funny, witty, stylish and just REAL.
When I got my book signed by him, I was such a deer stuck on headlights that all I could muster to say was, "I love your style". Hmm... better he never heard that before. He was so gracious though and we talked briefly about Seattle. Anyway, can you tell I have a bit of a design crush on this guy?
