If you follow me on Instagram, then you may have seen a photo I recently added of one of my bathroom drawers.
Yup, pretty embarrassing. Not only is it a complete disorganized mess, I also have WAY too much and need to simplify.
As some of you may also know, I celebrated my birthday last Saturday. 42. Yup, I said it. Boom!
The number doesn't actually bother me, it's the gray hairs, the little wrinkles, uneven skin tone, and other skin disasters brought on by the hormonal firestorm that's brewing inside.. that's what bothers me. So, I have become a product freak. I am plead guilty of falling for pretty packaging and advertisements of porcelain perfect skin. And I really don't think I am alone on this.
That being said, I thought it'd be fun to share my favorite products. Maybe you'll want to put one of these on your Christmas list.
My routine includes removing my makeup including eye makeup with my Norwex microfiber cloths and just water. These cloths are amazing!
Then I do an extra deep cleaning with my Clairsonic brush and some cleanser. This is not a necessary step since this also removes your makeup (except eye makeup) but I like to use it because it helps diminish pores, softer and more radiant skin. I also like to remove my makeup with the cloths first, so when I use the clairsonic it's just my fresh skin and the cleanser, and it's not just moving my makeup around.
Nerium AD is a new anti-aging product for me and I have to say I think my skin is definitely improving. I am seeing those wispy fine lines under my eyes slowly disappearing.I have tried LOTS of cosmetics and in the past four or five months I have switched to Hourglass foundation and I really like it! It covers well, feels good, and is free of a lot of nasty chemicals. The Clarisonic Pedi System is a new product that I purchased last month, and I love this too. It has a sort of "sander" to use on your dry feet (not wet, and not in the shower) you can use up to 2 times a week, and there's the brush head to use in the shower everyday if you like, to keep maintenance. I get really dry feet. The kind that feels like Velcro walking on the carpet sometimes. This really keeps the dry skin at bay. I will still go in for the occasional pedicure but this is nice to use in between appointments.
This again, is a newer product that I've been using. Aveda Brilliant shampoo. It really adds a shine and softness to my hair and I don't need a shine serum. But be careful, a little goes a long way. If you use too much it can way your hair down. I recently traded over from my Chi flat iron to a ghd. Sephora was having a 20% off sale and I took the plunge to buy this. It heats in like 10 seconds! How awesome is that? It also works super good.
I take this baby on vacation with me. The Norwex hair turban. It wraps around your wet hair after a shower, and since it's microfiber it dries your hair faster and the turban contains natural antibacterial silver, so you can use it every day for a couple weeks without washing and no worries of mildew growth. It is super light on my head unlike a floppy, heavy bath towel.
Lastly, this perfume. I am not a big perfume connoisseur, but occasionally I like to put some on. I like light fresh, fruity smells, and this one fits the bill perfectly.
That's my list of favorites. I love to hear if you use any of the above or if you have other favorites, do spill! I love to hear what others use and love!
